The Laolagi Family

Lino Laolagi has squeezed her family of 10 into a 2 bedroom house for the last 10 years. It wasn’t until last December that Lino realized how much help her family needed. When her husband passed away last year, she was left as a single mother to 7 children 3 of whom were adopted, as well as a caretaker for her 58-year-old physically challenged brother. The Laolagi’s are pleased to be a partner family of the Jimmy Carter Work Project. Currently 50% of this family’s income goes toward paying a mortgage on a crumbling home that they begged their landlord to let them stay in. Laolagi will be able to move her family into a safe, functioning and clean home, away from the landlord who has been absent since their takeover of the mortgage. This amazing woman and her children, who donate so much of their time to the community, by volunteering at homeless shelters and mentoring at risk youth, are pleased to be a Habitat for Humanity Partner family, and Lino, Albert, Meafeu, Tina, Taitiana, Brianna, Alexander and Alisa can’t wait to move into their new home.
